Project 365 Day 71: Dine Out
I love Melbourne’s diversity. That is why everytime I have guests I usually get excited to show them Melbourne from my point of view. I am no expert when it comes to the greatest of the greats of Melbourne as I reckon I have not scratched yet the surface but what I do share with my guests is the best places I had been to to-date.
We went to DFO that day as my guests wanted to shop cheap branded stuffs. DFO is our default if we want to look for new, branded items at a fraction of its standard retail price. It is very convenient to go there as well as every basic thing that you might need will already be there. I also love to see my guests happy when they score a bargain!
Afterwards, we went to Johnny Pump for dinner. I love the memory that I have of Johnny Pump as it is one of those restaurants that Aaron and I had eaten at here in Melbourne. Although the city has a plethora of restaurants, we barely eat out during our first year as a married couple. Usually if we already found ourselves on the verge of eating out, we just buy something from KFC, have it to go and just eat it with rice at home. Saving for us and staying at home were more fun than eating out. But of course, you cannot always bury indulgent urges. So one time, when we went to DFO we decided to eat out and find a nice restaurant around the vicinity. Johnny Pump was one of the best that popped up so we decided to go there. We got a plate of pizza and a combo of their burger and shake and we just shared the dishes between us. The dishes were amazing, we had fun and we got really full. It was funny to think that it was already an indulgent choice for us back then as the whole meal only costed us around $25. We really were so stingy!
We got some steak, lamb, pasta and a huge bowl of chips that night. The food as usual was great. My guests were happy. The night ended with us happy and full.
