CAB Cafe is one of those unassuming restaurants that sit in the burgeoning foodie hub which is Kapitolyo. See those cars parked in front of CAB? That is a strong indicator of how good their foods are!
CAB Cafe is an extension of the family-run Cafe Bob's in Bacolod which was there since the 60's. The owner was there when I went but was overcome with shyness so I did not anymore approach him. He smiled at me though!
If you are looking for a heavy meal, they have pastas and pizzas to satisfy your requirement. However, if you are looking for a lighter grab or something that could finish off a nice meal, they have food items like cakes and pastries, which they are especially known for, to cover that. Their cake display was teeming with choices! Quite an extensive option they have there really for the different palates.
In my case, since I already had my lunch, my palate craved for something sweet to top off my meal. These luscious slice of Red Velvet Cake won the battle! And it did not disappoint. The cake has an addicting consistency to it and it is not too sweet that you will keep coming back for more bites or servings of these creamy goodness.
Another cake I recommend is this Mini Cream Cheese Turtle cake. This is too sweet for my liking but this sinful delight topped with those chocolate-caramel drizzle will surely blow the mind of people with extra sweet tooth. My cousin personally loved it!
Other than the cakes and pastries, they do also offer hot and cold drinks that could quench your thirst even on the most extreme of weathers. Their drink ranges from Php 65 to Php 145. CAB's most recommended choice is the Bailey's Mocha in which they put 5 to 10 mL of Bailey's Irish Cream to add an extra kick in your mocha drink! Tell me how was it as I am allergic to alcohol.
They also do have a lounge area outside if you want to eat your cake or sip your latte al fresco style. But with this kind of weather here in the Philippines during the summer season, I doubt anyone would be brave enough to stay here when the sun is still up!
But then again, this would be a perfect spot for that Saturday kwentuhan with your friends or a me-time with that book you cannot put down.
