Dishes abound Mad Mark's but as its name implies, sandwiches and frozen desserts are its specialties. Squished between two also infamous restaurants of Kapitolyo, we stormed in this little resto with a known purpose: to eat some good and creamy ice cream to complete the lunch we just had and to possibly alleviate from our minds the hot, humid weather.
The unassuming counter sits on the threshold; a sight that you might miss upon entering through the door. Along with the unassuming counter was the equally unassuming menu board that hangs at the back of it which bore only a few items such as their new offerings and homemade ice cream flavors; it was quite bare actually but I knew deep inside that it was more than what it seemed.
The first order was called the Half Baked Madagascar . Sitting at the top of the list, I right on assumed that it might be their bestseller. A vanilla-flavored ice cream, this was a nice choice as no one would go wrong with vanilla. Mixed with baked cookie dough, the expected immediately turn to the unexpected. With every bite of this creamy goodness, the cookie dough happily crumbled in my mouth.
This was as sinful as it gets! Ironic as it may be, Chocolate on chocolate was pure heaven.
Tasted like banana with scoops of chocolate ice cream, I now know why this ice cream was called Maybe Sundae ; it is a complete mash up of a banana split!
The Caramel and Walnut tea blended in this ice-cream as if they were meant to be together. The bland and healthy taste of the walnut tea (which tastes like green tea, by the way) tamed the uber sweetness of the caramel drops.
The restaurant in itself is simple but like what I have told you, it promises to deliver big on the diners' expectations. Moreover, the wooden and dim lighting of the restaurant make it more conducive for a laughter session with your loved ones. To tell you the bare truth, eating here actually feels like home; more so when you tasted their home made desserts.
