Project 365 Day 86: Yarra Again
My uncle’s family went to Sydney that day. Since I still wanted to tour my guests around Victoria without going far from Melbourne, I brought them to Yarra Valley. It is my default place to bring my guests to as it is just less than an hour drive from where we live.
We stopped in the lovely TarraWarra Estate wherein we spent a few minutes admiring the beautiful scenery at the back of the museum. I then brought them to Rochford Wines which is one of the wineries in the vicinity for a wine-tasting session. Since they still wanted to have a taste of more wine, we went afterwards to Domaine Chandon which is another favourite spot of mine in Yarra Valley. I never tire of looking at that view! Since the ladies wanted some cheese tasting session I brought them next to the Yarra Valley Dairy which is a quaint shop that offers a cheese and wine tasting sessions and a variety of local goods. We ended up getting two cheese varieties which we all agreed upon. We then cleansed out our palates with a good serving of chocolate and ice cream in the Yarra Valley Chocolaterie.
Since majority of the group was already hungry we then headed towards my favorite restaurant in the area called Dixon’s Creek Cafe for some Australian fares such as steak and fish and chips. We ended the night with a tasting paddle and two large mugs of beer in the Coldstream Brewery which for me is the perfect place to have beer and some delicious desserts at the same time.
