Manila: A Sunny Saturday in Sofitel Manila
MANILA, PHILIPPINES - Sun, sun, sun! I grew up loving the sun. I think this is largely due to the fact that I grew up near the beach and sunny days beget jam-packed resorts, happy picnics along the shoreline and a good swim among many others. Sunny days simply mean happiness and bliss, which I always get whenever I was welcomed by it. So in order for us to maximize the sunny days left before rainy season commences, we traversed towards the Sofitel Manila, which is near our place and within the metro, to take advantage of the nice and swim-friendly weather outside.
Sofitel is a resort hotel that got all that we need! Great buffet? Check! Spa? Check! Pastry counter? Check! A flower shop? Check! Fully-equipped gym? Check! Proximity to prime locations? Lots of check! Amazing bay view? Double, triple check! Most of all, we simply adore the irregular-shaped, lagoon-like swimming pool here that lets us free up the kids within us as we go round and round around it, going deep, frolicking on the sides and splashing water on each other's faces! Simple fun that we miss! The pool also has amazing furniture surrounding it! From chaise lounges, Spartan day beds, hammocks and white big mama bean bags, they all have it! I assure you that you can never ever find yourself without something to lounge on. Just take your pick for the day, let it hold your belongings for a while, while you swim in the pool and simply get out from the water and lie down on it until sun down! Mine was the big, white bean bag that lines up along a faux grass turf facing the bay. Aaahhh, so squishy and humongous I had a hard time keeping myself awake to just stare at the greatness of God's creations!
