Daily Post #6: Looking Forward

I woke up feeling excited than usual. Despite the lack of sleep, I felt energized to go through the day. I woke up with a bounce. I walked with a skip in my steps. I worked as if I slept 7 hours last night. I smiled to almost everyone I pass by.

I was inspired.

This feeling is all too familiar. This is how you go through a day if you are passionate with what you are doing. This is how you act if you are motivated - inspired by something or someone. This is what you feel when you are excited about something or excited to see someone at the end of the day. You purposefully go through your day because you know that you’ll be seeing that person at the end of it.

In my case, I was excited to see someone.

It’s like falling in love all over again. Every attention is focused on that moment when you will see the other person again. That is the end goal. Every thing else at that moment is just a consolation. Everything before is just a blurry transition.

I got out of work early. I smiled some more and said good bye to everyone I pass by. I took the fastest route to get to where we are supposed to meet. I was nervous. Nervous but excited. Nervous but looking forward. Looking forward but afraid of what I might see and more afraid that I might not like what I will see.

The first glance after the long wait was magic. I may not have seen you for what seems a long time but this did not deter me on knowing you in a much deeper level, deeper than any other person could ever know you.

My eyes were fixated on you. Every movement of yours, I smiled. Every turn of your head, every slight movement of your arms, every yawn, every breath, they all made me drawn to you.

I was catching my breath every single time.

You may had been silent mostly but that’s fine because looking at you is more than enough. Then the silence has been broken by the thumping of your heart. It was fast. It sounded more like galloping horses. It was out of this world. It was intense.

My heart responded by skipping a beat or two.

We were like this for an hour and we were only given an hour. It may had been a short meeting but I am very glad to have seen you again. After this, I’ll wonder once more when will I see you and before we know it, it is again time that we do. For now, just take your time. Because we will just be waiting for you, our baby boy.
