An Unexpected Trip to Bratislava

BRATISLAVA, SLOVAKIA. Other than it was once known as the better half of Czech Republic when they were still Czechoslovakia, I absolutely know nothing about Slovakia. That's why when we visited Bratislava, the capital of the country, I immediately succumbed to the idea of traversing it using the older but more effective method of walking endlessly to cover what we can given our limited time in the place.

Prague, Czech Republic: Hotel International Prague

PRAGUE, CZECH REPUBLIC. Located in the residential district of Prague-Dejvice, this Czech national landmark is one of your best bet if you are looking for a place to check in at Prague. Not only is it accessible from the Vaclav Havel airport but it is also quite near from the main attractions like the Prague Castle, Old Town, Charles Bridge and Wenceslas square. If you are more of the kind of person that likes to discover and experience the transportation system of a specific place, you will definitely like Hotel International Prague as the tram network is just a few meters away from it. It makes every place so near and very accessible.

Loved Foods During Our Walk on a December Afternoon in Prague

PRAGUE, CZECH REPUBLIC. When you are walking the whole afternoon, it is normal to eat a lot and that is because you try to compensate the energy lost through walking by eating more; well, aside from the fact that you just want to eat every little interesting food that you see along your path, of course. That always happens with us. Most of the time, we splurge the bulk of our money on food. Lots of food! Here are some items I deeply, deeply loved during our afternoon walk in Prague

Artworks Around

PRAGUE, CZECH REPUBLIC. One of the things I adore about Europe is that wherever I go I am sure to find something that would catch my attention. Well, Prague is no exemption, if not more!  Here are some of the interesting things I have seen during my walk around the city! I bet these just compose a small fraction of the totality but they were already enough to keep me revelling about the fact that this city is just downright quirky and charming.

Seeing the Rest of Prague

PRAGUE, CZECH REPUBLIC. It had been snowing hard the second day that we were in Prague. Actually, it was snowing hard then in most parts of Europe. Our tour guide said that Stuttgart even reached -38 during the early part of the morning. Good thing we were not anymore in Germany by then!

Fishy Lunch in Prague

PRAGUE, CZECH REPUBLIC. Czech Republic is a haven for meat lovers but for those who prefer seafood, I am sorry to burst your bubble but it is a rarity to find fresh ones here. For one, the country is landlocked, which means you just could not get fresh off-the-boat catch on a whim unlike its neighbouring EU countries that reside on the west. The seafood had to be transported at a long distance before Czechs can even enjoy it.

Travel Items I Can't Do Without When I Go Explore the World

One of the things I take pride on is the fact that I am a light packer. I can usually live from a backpack or a small luggage whenever I travel especially when I'll just be heading to a country that has a weather like ours.

I am that no-fuss kind of girl. That one whom you can see wearing a pair of shorts and a t-shirt or a light dress paired with an equally comfortable sandals or rubber shoes for that long walk, sightseeing and culture immersion day-long.

The Magnificent and Large Prague Castle Complex

PRAGUE, CZECH REPUBLIC. Our tour guide has not yet experienced snow in Prague. It is actually unusual especially since she always visits the place during the peak of the winter season. So when she told us this fact, we were more than happy to hear it. At least we get the chance to escape the snow even just for a few days and enjoy better the city without being distracted by the snow.

Prague by Night

PRAGUE, CZECH REPUBLIC. Prague is a city like no other. This little surprise is as quirky as it can get. With controversial artworks and statues scattered around, this city would not bore you even just one bit. We roamed around Prague after eating at the lovely and antique-filled U Císařů. It had been a cold night but we just endured it by snuggling more of our body under our coat, our bonnets and our scarves.

Welcoming Prague in U Císařů

PRAGUE, CZECH REPUBLIC. Located along the so-called Royal Way near the Prague Castle, U Císařů, which literally means "The Emperors", invites you to a dining experience like no other. For one, the restaurant's interior is just absolutely stunning and evokes a feeling of a distant past. As you walk along the corridor right after the main door, every minute detail that you see along the way captures you. The dim lights help in setting the overall mood.

Drinking Sesh in One of Munich's Oldest Breweries and Beer Halls That is Hofbräuhaus

MUNICH, GERMANY. In Germany, beer is about the same price as water and day drinking is commonly more accepted here than in any other parts of the world. Because they are huge fans of beer, it is no surprise that they had been able to produce 1500 different brands and perhaps more. This fact makes it harder for people to pick just one to try out. With beer embedded not just in their culture but also in their veins, beer halls and beer gardens are normal things to see around Bavaria.

Uyghur Cuisine in Munich

MUNICH, GERMANY. I have no idea what Uyghur cuisine was so when we found Taklamakan restaurant near the Hauptbahnhof and in the middle of the Bahnhofsviertel bearing a text above the store name referring to an unfamiliar cuisine, we got so curious we immediately barged inside the restaurant without thinking twice. Uyghur cuisine which is also called Xinjiang cuisine is found throughout China.

Vinzenzmurr: Answer to A Hefty Eater's Hunger After An Exhaustive Touring Around Dachau

DACHAU, GERMANY. We immediately looked for something to eat after our visit in the Dachau Memorial site. Coming from the site, we went back to where we started (the bus station) but found no restaurant that we like near there so we walked furthermore along the Bahnhofstrasse. In we go and out we went immediately after we find nothing that we fancy from the restaurants along the street; well, until we arrived at the intersection and found a deli shop/restaurant at one of its corners.

A Heartwrenching Visit in Dachau

DACHAU, GERMANY. When your hotel is just around the corner of the Hauptbahnhof, itchiness to travel far constantly get to you. It is a nice and cold winter morning when we thought of going to Dachau. A 30-minute ride through S-bahn from the city center, this charming little town in Upper Bavaria is a popular residential area to those working in Munich and a popular attraction for the tourists because of its proximity to the infamous Dachau Concentration Camp.

Bratwurst Loving in Wurstkuchl

REGENSBURG, GERMANY. If you find yourself hungry after roaming around the Old Town of Regensburg, I recommend for you to head on to this lovely, 500-year old tavern along the Danube called Wurstkuchl. Standing right next to the Old Stone Bridge, you can never miss the bright green restaurant facing towards the river.

The Old Town of Regensburg with Stadtamhof

REGENSBURG, GERMANY. A picturesque little city, Regensburg is a city that should not be missed when you are in Bavaria for it houses a UNESCO World Heritage Site: The Old Town of Regensburg with Stadtamhof. Located along the Danube River, the medieval town has many pretty buildings and shophouses of great quality that gives proof of it being an influential trading centre before.
